25% LG or better with a ping under 70 isn't terribly hard...12% = badly off. I haven't seen the demos yet so I dunno what happened.

shaft percentage is a pretty retarded way to judge a match (this even assuming your opinion matters, which it does not).

great tactics by reppie on dm4 throughout the whole tourney, karol just sexy in general as is customary. you'll get him next time kurwa B}

yes razor, it is true. you have a 'mean' or 'effective' shaft which of course do not mean you get 30% efficiency with the lg on aero otherwise your lg is lameass. The distinction between 'efficiency' and 'effectiveness' is an important one, especially when you gauge the former by a % only.

otherwise i often use the terms interchangably, but i certainly don't think of efficency in terms of a number.

I think of reppie, razor and ins as very efficient players, though not necessarily in terms of a %. Btw, a great tourney for both ins and reppie. congrats, xhrl

Even I, a person who started watching QW demos just months ago, have noticed (and commented to some ppl over IRC) how _meaningless_ the shaft percentage truly is.

Check out xamp (or champ?) for example.. He NEVER uses his shaft unless he can see the enemy.. it's almost as if he were playing to have a high LG %, never wanting to waste some. At least I noticed so while watching the last duelmania demos.

For instance, ParadokS (a guy I watch a LOT of), sometimes shoots to a teleporter or to a corner, just IN CASE the opponent shows there.. And while that is (usually) good playing, anticipating someone will pop out somewhere... it lowers your shaft percentage.

What's my point? I think percentage means nothing, maybe the "better" shaft is a 15% than a 25%, if it worked when you needed it to.

all you need to say is "shaft spam" and the issue is settled

but i actually agree.. even with conciderable lg spam, players like insa and reppie and pretty much everybody in this tourney from round 1, can pull off at LEAST 25% lg. it is not a "meaningless" number. it becomes "less meaningful" if a LOT of lg spam is involved (I dont think lg spam lowers more than 5%...)

anyway i think "total lg hit" would be a nice statistic to take note of...

Swift imo griffin vs para match was a rape because para was rushing like mad. After each spawn jumping straight to lg/ga. In other words para allowed griffin to get high lg% (which was only 32% actually and is not THAT high)

And yea some call it shaft spam but its more like shaft prediction shot. So yeah that reduces your lg%.
