I've never seen a player quite like Reload.. he has such a unique style of play - very dominating, agressive and effective.

His DM2 skills certainly stand out from other maps. He's without a doubt the best DM2 player in the world even the euros can't deny this. This was proved anyway at TGI.

After watching the games I have to say without a doubt Reloads got the best rl aim in the world especially on dm2. Part of it is his midair skill he is so good at it.

I've seen few Griffin dm2 demos where you go "shit this is the best rl ive ever seen" but reload tops it really, he is simply faster than grif on dm2 but not as smooth. smooth != fast.

qw is not a beauty of movement contest which grif obvioulsy wins. Most euros think low sens + smooth movement = better player. Reload gets more frags at a higher rate AND has fun in the process its what deathmatch is all about.

Specs bring some more of this.

This is pretty much the best we've seen from Reload, he definitely looks in top form.

The thing is, is that this is just a fun match, theres nothing on the line, if it was a tourney game for a prize, you would have to play much tighter than this, and Griffin and Dag know how to do that. There's no such thing as an easy frag against those two.

You can't go around professing how Reload > Griffin on dm2, you just can't, the only way you would know is if they met in a match, and that probably ain't ever gonna happen. Griffin knows what to do when under pressure, and as good as the players in OZ are, I don't think anybody is able to put Reload under any real pressure on this form.

A match on lan would be the only way to know, these demo's while awesome to watch, tell us nothing about what would happen if they faced each other.

Still, we want to see more please...

I kinda agree with you there. They would have to play on lan to find out whos better otherwise its just bs speculation.

But I dunno re just seems a bit more impressive and he knows how to deal with cs players, thats not a problem, you can spam pines all you want at mh he'll fuck you up. Of course im biased :-)

4/5 years ago Reload amazed us all. When we watched his demos we were humbled by his high velocity reaction speed, precision aim and his ability to control maps. Reload is still is able to impress us time to time, but now the only person who comes close to giving us that same sense of awe is Griffin who boasts an extremely polished style of play and has this game down to a science. These days when a demo of griffin is uploaded, top players around the globe take notice and are humbled enough to comment on his skill. When reload plays it's always a bunch of mediocre players primarily from *AU* who tell us how great he is. I believe Reload has the potential of being a truly impressive player again, but as it stands atm, you're off your rocker if you really think Reload would do a number on Griffin.

Back in the day we were impressed by Reload just by watching him play and we got a really good sense of where abouts his skill level lies. We don't need a bunch of fanatics who are nostalgic of a time when Re's style really did stand out from the rest, insisting how incredible he is.

Where's your guys pride anyways. You guys sound like you would defend your imposed title on Reload as "World's best Quakworld Player Ever" to the death. How can you possibly ever think you yourselves could beat him one day, if you give him so much credit. Psychologically he has you all beat.

Closest .eu player I've seen to Reload's style is LocKtar, but he wasn't able to keep up the aggression against say, Reppie in duelmania.

Though saying that, has Reload lost a dm2 in any significant tournament? Or at all, ever? :p

There have been no internatational comps like TGI since, all the ones in EURO are based in Euro and do not attract the likes of North American or Australian/Asian/Brazillian players.

Dont forget, Reload was invited to attend TGI, all expenses paid, and even sponsored by Intel to do so.

Why would he bother forking out $$$$ to go play computer games in Europe. You want him there? Pay for it, or shut it. Thats what happened last time and you know what to do if you want it to happen again.

Perfection is referring to major LAN competitions:

-That actually mean something and are not 'online' comps
-Where ALL PLAYERS are on an equal playing field (pings etc)
-Where the pressure is truly on
-Where money/prizes/glory are up for grabs

The current (and previous) competition run by Besmella is great for QW in general, but don't get confused about an insignificant online competition compared to major LANS with sponsorship and significance. These are the competitions that Reload has consistantly and convincingly won (bar TGI).

So when specifically was Reload last in a LAN competition? 2 years ago?, 3?, more?

I know there are demo's here on ch-tv of Wart's Lan from 2004 where Mortuary and Miyagi played, but was Reload there?

warts lan is not a competition. Its just a LAN organised between friends.

A comp is a comp. Sponsors, decent prizes and quality entrants. Without decent prizes, there is no incentive for anyone to fly anywhere, let alone put in the time to practice for it. Theres this thing called 'LIFE' that seems to take priority for most people.

There you go Phil :) These were quite some time ago so the 'official' names of these major LANS I can't quite remember.

Reload doesn't or hasn't entered any LAN recently as there hasn't been a major one organised in the past recent years, I'm sure if there is one in Sydney he would attend. If it is based elsewhere, you're going to need incentive for him to go.

NZ lan was called QuakeStock. Zjake was a great dueller...mirage was a fucktard who thought he was better than he actually was...pro-gamer? yeah right :) Most of the New Zealand quake crew thought of him as a bit of a homo too. We heard he offered reload a handjob but reload said nah and raped him.
