Best match from the TGI series imo.
Watch Columbos shaft attacks in the mega room. A hit % of 100 or what? :)

I have not seen this demo in a very long time. It surprised me how entertaining to watch it still is. Usually i get quickly bored by older demos due to the slower playing style back then.
A tactical match by two superb dm4 players. And i still learned a thing or two watching it. Amazing!
In my opinion even with their skillset from '99 both Kane and Columbo would easily own 95% of todays players. Would be so nice to see them play again but that will remain a dream. Kane does not seem to be interested in gaming anymore at all and i have not heared anything from Columbo since TGI. Anyone knows what he is up to today?

I uploaded this, as I felt it needed to be here; surprisingly it wasn't among the tgi demos when i checked. Now this oversight is taken care of! :)

I agree with apo's comments above; this was one of the finest tgi demos...the laker game vs columbo on dm4 was just as strategic as this one and the final, well that, seems almost legendary now even though it was only 4 yrs ago. Columbo was one of the finest players from a defensive standpoint...and I do think they would do well even today. and if they learned to bunny..well, then, watch out! :) I admire columbo's style so much because even though it wasn't flashy, he could still manage to compete against and beat some very "flashy" players of his time. He is a thinking man's defensive player; I really enjoyed how kane managed to come back in this game even against columbo's wicked shaft (and check out that mouse sens he used, hehe). At this point in qw columbo was little known outside of his region and kane was well-known, perhaps generally considered the no.2 player in qw; it was thoughtful play like this that rightly gained columbo status a 'top' player. the dream apo refers to would be like a little slice of heaven for me :) I think in this demo we can learn how a player like para, who has superior new-school movement, could really benefit from imitating the "careful" offense of columbo and great 'defensive' downside tactics of kane. It is the heightened player awareness in the old school game that some new school players could revisit and benefit from.

bloody awesome demo :)

mqwcl plays .qwz files just fine. you just need to have your qizmo_dir set properly, and compress.dat must exist therein.

I usually decompress qwz's to qwd and then convert them to mvd's with -fps 40. The downside is that you loose the ability to alter the playback speed of the demo, but you get the smoothest demo experience possible!

Old demos really fancy me off, but this demo sucked big time. Both players play really stupid, in old demos that doesnt matter, but if they play CS and stupid its just boring to watch.. I have a lot of older demos wich is much better than this one.. Kane/columbo wouldnt stand much of a chance against 95% of the players today, i think most of those who play duel seriously would win.

I?ve seen better demos from both players.
I consider Kane as my all-time favorite qw-player though, and I think it?s a shame that the quakeworld-scene has lost him and other good players such as LakermaN, columbo and xenon for example.
