As controversial a subject as this may be to bring up it was very nice to see Dag not use +rj script in dm4. Use of it was still in dm6 :( It always seems weird to watch "top notch" qw players using +rj scripts. It would be sweet if tournaments banned the use of +rj scripts, if not for it's apparent lameness but for us specs. It's much more entertaining to see players pull off a good manual rj than some automated script eh??
Just my opinion but other than that, great games to watch if you don't mind the CS tatics. Nicely played game Dag, against a very formidable opponent.

Totally agree about banning scripted RJs. Not only does it look lame... but it's something that you CAN'T do manually! It's an advantage, really... Have you seen the speed at which they're done? The player spins 360 degrees and you don't even notice! If it wasn't for the sound, you wouldn't even know someone did an RJ... kfjump takes away from Quake. It just takes something from it.

+rj = maximum speedup, so what's the point to ban it? it's cool..

embah, it can make a difference and it is this possibility that brings out the motion to stop their use in official tournies. no one cares what a guy uses in fun or practice games.

Lots about QW makes a difference in duels.

What about the spawning code for competitive play and the position and number of spawns available on each map. It's badly designed and there aren't enough as well as being badly positioned, all making it bad for competitive play.

I would say the spawning code and number of spawns/positions should be enhanced above anything else right now. We'd see more skillful and open duelling if that could be organised.

QW is about possibilities but now in duels the top has been reached and there's nowhere to go so players get lazy or bored.

Please don't come back and say but that's the way the game is. Change is good when it's something that will enhance the game. It's not an easy task to decide how it should be done although if it was done methodically instead of chosen by someone who thinks they know what would be best then it could work.

QW dueling is almost at a standstill now and I can't see new maps fixing things but you never know.

Also, FRJ is for noobs? It provides timely reaction and pinpoint accuracy, sure the "noobs" can make use of it but it takes a great player to use it as a competitive advantage.

Decided to say a little more about the noob comment you made dirtbox. A "real player" would never have said that about another good player a couple of years ago. You're a fairly good player yet you are following the sheep with the real players rj manually crap.

dag uses the FRJ and he's probably one of the best ever "real players" yet someone like you appears to think nothing of calling him a noob.

QW has degenerated and it's unlikely a lot of the "real players" will stick around much longer to keep up the standards.

I don't mean to be rude although I guess I am being rude. Sorry about that.
